Matthew McGhee is a native of the Piedmont region of North Carolina. He has always enjoyed building things and understanding how they work and come together.
After graduating from Appalachian State in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in construction management, Matthew began his construction career with a commercial contractor in Raleigh. There, he helped build schools for the Wake County Public School System and office buildings in downtown Durham. In 2018, Matthew decided to move out west and chase his dream of building luxury custom homes. He settled in southwest Montana. Matthew began with a homebuilder and eventually found his way to working for the Yellowstone Club building high-end custom residential homes. It was during this time where he learned the attention to detail and high level of communication that is required for high-end custom homes.
After six years enjoying the west, Matthew and his wife decided it was time to move back closer to home and decided to settle in the mountains of North Carolina.
In his free time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and young son enjoying all the outdoor recreation that western North Carolina has to offer. Biking, kayaking, and hiking are favorites. In the fall, you can catch him watching all of the Appalachian State football games, cheering on the Mountaineers.
