ABOUT US

Starting with only a few tools and a passion for quality, Malcolm Morgan and a college friend founded Morgan-Keefe Builders in 1980, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Today, MKB is a multimillion-dollar company. More importantly, it is one of the most respected luxury custom home builders in Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.

Early on, a crucial turning point came when MKB built its first speculative home. That home sold quickly, more homes followed, and a successful momentum was generated. Word spread about the company’s high standards, professionalism, and superior level of craftsmanship.

Over the decades, MKB has assembled a team of skilled professionals and craftspeople who specialize in attention to detail and client service. From site preparation to laying the last tile, each employee is dedicated to the company’s core principles of integrity, quality and accountability. That means every employee is part of a team focused on satisfying each client while maintaining the highest of quality standards.

Today, Asheville-based Morgan-Keefe Builders enjoys a solid reputation for building luxury homes of exceptional quality with excellent client service. Their custom mountain and lakefront homes are in high demand across the Carolinas. MKB is also honored to be a preferred builder for many of the region’s finest private communities.

Our luxury custom homes can be found in the Carolinas’ premier master-planned golf course and resort communities including The Ramble, The Cliffs, Balsam Mountain Preserve, The Reserve at Lake Keowee, Bright’s Creek, Champion Hills, Reynolds Mountain, Ventana, Lake Lure, Lake Toxaway, and Highlands-Cashiers.

MKB is committed to providing clients with innovative and proven construction technologies. The company appreciates green building construction and encourages clients to consider a variety of energy-efficient and environmentally sensitive construction elements in their custom home design.

COMMUNITIES

Over four decades, Morgan-Keefe Builders has been more than a builder of custom homes. We have been a trusted partner and preferred builder among many mountain and lake communities throughout the Carolinas. Some examples are: The Cliffs Communities, The Ramble at Biltmore Forest, Balsam Mountain Preserve, and Bright’s Creek. We have a passion for quality, acute attention to detail, and appreciation for fine craftsmanship. This is what aligns us with the quality standards that are required to be among the elite preferred builders in master-planned communities in this region.

GIVING BACK

We have joined forces with two well-established environmental organizations to plant trees both at home and abroad: The Nature Conservancy and American Forests. As an environmentally-minded builder, Morgan-Keefe Builders has decided to donate tree plantings as move-in gifts for every client whose custom home we construct.

“We always try to limit the number of trees we cut down on a lot when we build a custom home,” Morgan explains. “However, we recognize that even environmentally sensitive buildings have an impact on the environment. Participating in tree planting projects is one important way the housing industry can help restore what so many have torn down,” Morgan said.

The Nature Conservancy launched its online Plant a Billion Trees campaign in October 2008. To date, more than 1.5 million trees have been planted in the Atlantic Forest, which is one of the world’s largest and most endangered tropical forests.

The goal of reforestation projects is to restore natural habitats and ecosystems, protect endangered plant and animal species, enhance air and water quality, and slow global warming and erosion.
