The Morgan-Keefe Team
Morgan-Keefe Builders has been celebrating success since 1980, thanks in part to the vision and leadership of founding partner, Malcolm Morgan. His core business philosophies—communication, integrity, value, and quality construction—are shared by each member of the MKB team.
Malcolm excels in teambuilding. He enjoys listening to clients, assisting them in articulating their dream, and managing the company’s resources to make that dream a beautiful reality. In addition, he is skilled at creating cooperative and productive working relationships between clients, architects, his employees and subcontractors. Malcolm’s many years of experience enable him to negotiate projects effectively, maintain a “big picture” perspective for his team, and finish projects on time and within budget.
Malcolm began his building career at an early age in his native North Carolina. He worked in various trades on construction projects throughout high school and college. He also worked with his grandfather who was a field engineer for a national company. Malcolm went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina in Asheville with a major in economics and a minor in psychology. He holds a General Contractor’s License in the states of North and South Carolina.
When he’s not in the office or on the lot, he can often be found on the course. Golf has always been a passion for Malcolm. He’s played since high school and took it the next level in college. In 2004, Malcolm was given the opportunity to be an official PGA caddie for his good friend and PGA player Tommy Tolles. And as Malcolm puts it: “It was a once in a lifetime experience!”
Brenda is a CPA and retired from a 20 year career as Chief Financial Officer with a major southeastern retailer. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. Prior to her retail experience, Brenda worked in public accounting for 5 years. She joined Morgan-Keefe Builders as its president and chief financial officer in 2006. With Brenda’s background in management and finance, she quickly made a positive difference.
Brenda focuses on the administrative and management side of the business, allowing Malcolm to spend more time on job sites and marketing. She helps guide day-to-day operations as well as the financial direction of the company. Brenda and her husband David live in Asheville and enjoy in their spare time boating and relaxing on Lake Norman near Charlotte and traveling. They have 5 beautiful grandchildren.

Joel enjoys working with homeowners to refine their custom home vision and then assembling a highly qualified team of craftsmen to artfully bring this vision to life.
As the son of a custom-home builder, Joel has spent more than 25 years in the construction industry. He holds a degree in Architectural Engineering and has worked as a tradesman, designer, estimator, facilities engineer and custom-home builder. He builds cohesive teams of professionals who are clear about project expectations and committed to working collaboratively to meet and surpass them.
Martin’s construction experience spans 28 years and two continents. He began his career as a woodworker and cabinet maker in France, where he received formal training in his craft and also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics. After many years managing construction projects in both Europe and the U.S., Martin was drawn to the mountains of Western North Carolina where he joined Morgan-Keefe Builders in 2008.

Her holistic approach to problem solving and team building brings a critical element to managing each project. She also has developed exceptional communication skills. Whether encountering subcontractors, working out details with architects or communicating a dream from a client, she works diligently to appropriately convey each message and keep each project moving forward.
In college, McKenzie interned with Morgan Keefe to grow in experience from all facets of the MKB process. She spent time estimating, managing and even spent time with the accounting team to gain knowledge of what makes for a successful company and luxury home project. In 2009, after completing her collegiate career in Construction Management and Business Administration, McKenzie joined Morgan Keefe Builders full time.
