MORGAN-KEEFE BUILDERS BREAKS NEW GROUND AT VERSANT
MKB Builds First Custom Home in Asheville’s Newest Luxury Community
Morgan-Keefe Builders recently joined the development team at Versant, Asheville’s newest master-planned mountaintop community and the only one in the Carolinas dedicated to preserving and protecting the environment through participation in the Audubon International Gold Signature Program.
Morgan-Keefe broke ground on Versant’s first luxury estate in late January 2008 and looks forward to completing it by February of 2009. Although this is their first custom home in Versant, Morgan-Keefe has been building luxury homes in the Carolinas’ most exclusive communities for more than 27 years.

Just seven minutes from Asheville, NC, Versant is nestled on 400 pristine acres that provide stunning long-range mountain and valley views from every estate-sized home site and its European-inspired mountaintop village.
When fully developed, Versant will offer luxury amenities that include a gourmet marketplace, fine dining, wellness center, resort-style infinity pool, executive retreat center, mountaintop amphitheatre, and concierge services.
This community’s finest amenity, however, is its unspoiled mountain setting. According to Versant’s developers, “This natural beauty will not only be preserved, it will govern how we develop our community.”
Versant is working closely with planners and developers to retain a significant portion of the existing tree canopy, and its master plan designates more than 70 acres as open space, greenways and hiking trails.
This careful planning will help protect a diverse array of native plants and wildlife populations that include great heron, wild turkey, ruby-throated hummingbird and red-headed woodpecker as well as white-tailed deer, cottontail rabbit and black bear.
In keeping with Versant’s environmental commitment, Morgan-Keefe’s master-crafted home will incorporate eco-smart features such as geothermal heating and cooling, icynene insulation, low-impact natural building materials, low-toxic finishes and naturescaping.
